The Lakehouse Grill is a lovely room with a great view. We ate there frequently its first year and enjoyed the varied menu and generally trying-to-please staff. The meals the subsequent few years have become increasingly less good and we have gone there increasingly less. We tried it again a few weeks ago. The menu and the room continues to be a positive. Our waitress was indifferent ( and it was not busy). Information about specials we got overhearing the waiter at the next table who was excellent. The food sounded better than it tasted. It wasn't bad, it just didn't make me excited to return. As part of the Common Man chain, it, unfortunately, seems to have developed more chain restaurant mediocrity. As such, it is really not much of a value. It is a shame as it really could be much better. It's OK if you happen to be in Meredith, but it isn't worth a special trip IMO.

I always make it a point to have dinner at Lakehouse when I come up to the lake and have found the food to be very good. I love the Boathouse salad and there is always a good selection of entrees to choose from. The hostess is very friendly and helpful and I have usually had good luck with the wait staff as well. It has a pleasant ambiance and I usually get a table looking out over Meredith Bay.

They have replaced the uncomfortable birch chairs with more traditional ones. The food was very good and the view was great. The service was extremely slow; they don't seem to have enough wait staff for the number of tables. All in all, a big improvement. Jetskier ![]() |

Wife and I had a marvelous experience on Christmas at the buffet at the Lakehouse. The buffet was served from 12pm-6pm. Reservations seemed to be required, especially if you wanted to be seated promptly and we were at 2pm. The food was set up in the bar area and included a nice assortment of appetizers, including their Boat House salad and huge shrimp, the corn and lobster chowder, entree choices of salmon, chicken, carving station-ham and beef, asparagas and a dessert buffet that included a chocolate fountain and other pies, pastries and brownies. The price was a very reasonable $29.99 each. We stayed at the Church Landing during Christmas for 3 nights and it was a nice Christmas present for each of us.
