I need sand delivered

I've got to get sand delivered out to Barndoor island to enhance a beach area. I figure about two to three tons will do, who do I call?

The first one you need to call if the sand is going in the water is the State as you need a permit so they told me when someone told them that I was adding sand to the lake. Now that was about 15 years ago and things may have changed, but I'd check into it before going to far. Don't mean to be a party pooper, but is is always good to check ones back end before going to far.

I just had a perched beach installed, and the permit for that specifically states that future sand replenishment is prohibited without an additional permit. Since that type of beach is up on the shore, with a water permeable membrane to keep sand out of the lake, it doesn't look good for a sandy slope into the water - if that's the kind of beach to which you are adding sand.

Try Dave Farley, Diversified Marine at 603-630-2259. He is doing our perched beach now.

As previously mentioned, beach replenishment is by permit only.

Did you say you were going to do some cement work. If that is the case just order washed sand.

You got it. Many contractors that are getting requests for beach sand are giving names of those that order same. Permits are then checked. I know of 3 people that have been spoken to and all 3 used the same contractor.

You were critical of a poster who docked in the handicapped boat spot in Wolfeboro and suggested that if you were around you would make sure he/she received a ticket. Yet, on this thread you are suggesting ways for a member to circumvent the state rules for putting sand in the lake. I would have expected more from you.
