Default FWM Docks

Does anyone here have any experience with FWM Docks? I am trying to find docks for possible jet skis, and this company looked great. If not these people how did you do it?

While I don’t know much about FWM, I think you would be better off contacting someone on the lake that can look at and evaluate exactly what would be best for you….

Personally I would contact Glen at Watermark in Laconia. They do great work with all types of lifts!

Good luck!

Dan

We have FWM docks, good quality, not cheap. They have been around for quite a few years.

Default Very Pleased with FWM

I bought a large dock setup from FWM two years ago and have been very pleased. I like not having to pound poles into the lake bed each year. Mine are the 4'x8' aluminum docks with the Azek removable decking sections. The docks are very sturdy and the decking has stayed clean so far and doesn't get too hot to walk on. Takes two people to install each section.

If you are looking at their EZ Port product there are plenty of dealers on the lake that sell similar products. All of the dock companies carry a brand. FWM is just a dealer for EZ Dock products, they don't build it.

You think someone on the lake could come and look at my property and choose and install what I need?

So if I recall, there was another Forum Thread you had started in which you were worried about the depth of the water on a house you were interested in.

I take it that you did end up buying that house as the depth wasn't as worrisome as you had initially thought ?

That house is in Moultonborough. He has stated that he bought in Meredith.

Hopefully, he will share with us the property that he bought so we can tell him what a good job he did!

Yes, we ended up choosing a different house than the first one I asked about. We were sure we would get that one, then this one came on and we loved it.
It's 22 Harris Rd in Meredith.

Love the inside and only needs a little work on it. The dock is another situation we are trying to figure out. For starters, it's quite old. We aren't sure if that is gonna be an issue. Second, we don't know if we want to get a boat lift or use the whips that are already on the dock. I sense that the lift will be quite a purchase, but we think it might be worth it. Curious if anyone else has one and likes it or not.
We also would like to put a place for our jet skis. I understand that we need some permits for that, but assuming I get those, is that all I need? Not sure if what we were looking at (EZ docks) is considered a permanent dock, and if that has any effect on it.

That house is light-years more beautiful than the other—congratulations!

In terms of docking, this may be a "wait and see" situation.

Those whips are there because, although it might be "buffered by Stonedam Island," (just outside of that, by the Weirs, is often the worst wave action/chop on Winni) that channel is a popular route to/from Sally's Gut and, given the hazards in the area (circled on the map), it's not as wide as it looks. The extent of the wave action might not really be known until the season's underway.

It doesn't look like there's much open shore space, so I'd definitely look at floating docks for the jet skis. It looks like there's plenty of space to throw two perpendicular to the dock opposite the whips, and those things are pretty good in rough conditions.

Either way, I think finding a docking company you trust would be a good first step to figuring these things out.

Congrats again, and best of luck with your new vacation spot!

I don't think getting anyone to do anything around here 'quickly' is too likely.. any contractor I have called recently (painter, stone guy, carpenter) to schedule work is booked until fall at the earliest and the painter said he is booking for next spring!

Thank you for that! I am planning on going up there next week with the boat to see how it looks. I’m hoping that we are tucked into the corner there enough that wakes will not be a huge issue, but i’m not sure. I’ll need to wait and see. If it ends up being an issue we might get a lift for our boat.
