Default Best Area Playhouse

Hi All!
My wife and I would like to take in a play this summer. What's the best playhouse in the area?

Thanks!

This afternoon Wifey and I attended a play at the Colonial Theatre in downtown Laconia.

We also saw Leonid And Friends there.

The theatre seems fine to me but I am not much of a theatre guy so what do I know.

Today I thought the play was going to be about whales.

Apparently it's actually HUNCHback of Notre Dame.

Sheesh!

Thanks, all—definitely a few options we'd not known about.

When you visit the web sites, you will notice that they tend to focus on different genres/styles of theater. So, "the best" may be the style of play you like. They may have their summer playlists up now, or will by June, so you can compare exactly what will be available.

Also to keep in mind, there are a lot of summer concert series, often outside in the evening, in the area.

A little off topic since Great Waters Music Festival at Castle in the Clouds does not put on plays, but rather has a series of summer concerts in a great outdoor tented venue at Castle In the Clouds. You can get individual tickets if you see a group that interests you. We have been going for years and they do a great job. Under the tent and lawn seats are available.

Didn't Great Waters Music Festival change their name? I'm sorry you said "we" have been going and I quickly read that as you being involved with the group. I need to be more careful. Seems I am always in a rush.

The organization’s tagline
has changed from “Great
Waters Music Festival,
Entertaining the Lakes
Region” to the more
streamlined “Great Wa-
ters, Summer Concerts."

Tis: You are correct about the change in the tagline. I had not noticed that. The "We" is just me and my wife. No worries. I can see how you might have thought that.
