Another iconic lake figure passes...
...very sad to read in today's Laconia Sun that John Goodhue died on Christmas Day. We worked with him to buy our Meredith home 10 years ago and he became a family friend. He was very kind to my family and me and I will miss his salty language, big voice, and colorful stories.
My condolences to his family. |

I’ve known John since 1964. Ran in to him last fall and had a few laughs reviewing the years. So many stories, he’s going to be missed.

John Goodhue
RIP John.
Most people only know John for his years in real estate, but John was hoot, always ready for fun, and very competitive. From his years in water ski racing, some might recall “Hash Browns” which he drove kneeling down w/o seats to save weight, later on in sailing, with Clockwork Orange, and then with Hot Tub. I hope someone found time to collect some of his stories. |

Tup Goodhue
The Town of Center Harbor has a newly installed park bench in the grass lawn area at their Lake Winnipesaukee town docks commemorating Tup Goodhue, with a plaque on it that says he was the keeper of Nipple Rock since 1960.
