Free Antique Lake Map
In the late 1890's a man named Matthew Calvert published a newspaper called the Weirs Times and Winnipesaukee Gazette. It featured local and regional news and gossip and of course all sorts of advertisements. A popular feature of the paper was a map of the lake that took up the two pages of the centerfold. The url below will take you to the map. If you would like your own copy you'll need to give an email address for an account that can accept a 7 or 8 MB attachment and I'll send it along. You can then print your own copies, save the image as wallpaper, or whatever. You can also have larger versions of the map printed at places like shutterfly.com. The link for the map is
http://www.millerealty.com/pages/16als052mappag.html The quality of what you see here suffers because it is reduced from such a large file. Your email will only be used to send the map. Last edited by milroy; 08-11-2006 at 07:11 PM. |
