Anyone been to the Corner House since it changed hands? Curious if there have been many changes made.

Was there last Thursday. They had an event on the first floor that was crowded, but we were the only one in the bar area on second floor (7-8PM). Menu was similar although re-printed. Wait-staff on a learning curve. Food was excellent.

it was crowded last Thursday because it was the final story tellers night until October.
I recently had dinner there and was sightly disappointed. I had the haddock which I enjoyed but They have a different menu in the main restaurant and a lot of it is now al carte. There were only a few customers there but service was very slow. It will be quite a while before I return. |

I think it is fair to say that the new Corner House is a work in progress, which is understandable. Limited menu in the pub but food was decent. They are redoing their kitchen so the limited menu is necessary. Once kitchen is redone/finished, I assume they will be back to a more robust menu. I wish the new owner well (and the old owners good luck in their retirement).
Hopefully, community will continue to support this great institution! |

I called for reservations for WineNot Monday and was told that weekly event has been suspended for the Summer.

We tried the Corner House Inn this evening for the first time since the management change and were pleasantly surprised. The shrimp and scallops were excellent, and the fish (Norwegian haddock) and chips were as good as any I have had. Although the WineNot Monday was not available, we did not miss it, and still ordered our bottle of wine. The sweet carrot bread was as good as before. We look forward to the next opportunity.

I would only go for wine not at least 4-5 times a summer. Because of this option Monday nights were always crowded. Probably will not go this summer with wine not no longer being held
