I live near Portland, Oregon where it rains a lot and moss is always an issue.

The best product I've found to kill moss on a roof is zinc sulfate, and to kill moss in a lawn use ferrous sulfate.

Both are available in large bags (forty to fifty or so pounds) at farm supply stores.

This could be a cottage industry: selling moss from lawns.

$15.99 to $47.95 (per square foot or 2-pound bag).

It seems to be the "deal" now for masons to put moss on a stone wall to make it look like it's been there forever. So you might have something in your new endeavor, APS!

I had a real problem with moos on my garage roof. I installed zinc strips along the ridge of my roof and within a few months the moss was gone, Over time the rain washes down the moss. Was able to buy at a roofing supply house.

Who knew that putting zinc strips on a roof would get rid of the cows causing all those moos on the garage roof.

Sorry Rugman, but that really hit my funnybone.

That's "Junior-moose", looking down at Mom-moose from the roof of the Zimmer's house in Anchorage, Alaska.
