Looks like only one turn lane to rt 3 off of 25 when done. Back-ups will be the norm. http://www.meredith3-25.com/Document...l_Option_A.pdf

I must be reading the rendering differently. According the the street marking the right lane heading west will be left, right and straight.

That pic shows two turning lanes, one left only and one left, straight, right.

As others noted, two lanes can turn left, just as it was before. However turning right will have one lane where before there were two at the light which quickly merged to one. I wouldn't expect much problem for normal traffic but it might be a tight right turn for a truck.

I was thru there Monday and one lane was for left only other lane straight or right hand turn. This was clearly painted on the street. After you go through the lights there are still two lanes which merge into one. Maybe they changed since then and also the signage on the poles may show different.
Time to start going around. This will be a nightmare with one lane for left hand turn.

Laconia Daily Sun article here says "Work on the project will cease for the summer on June 8, ahead of Laconia Motorcycle Week activities, and will resume after Labor Day. Sperry said the road arrows and signs will go back up to resume the old traffic pattern for the summer."

Sperry is the New Hampshire Department of Transportation’s on-site contract administrator, and he should know what is going on.

The article also says about the southbound turn lanes "the final project will retain those lanes", as also indicated on the project map previously referenced.

They are still working this week and next and the rightmost lane will apparently be closed for work some of that time.

The engineering plans posted on the NHDOT project web site CLEARLY show that when the project is done, the two lanes currently allowing folks to turn left from Rt25 West to Rt 3 South will be retained as before...no change. This is from the official engineering plans on line. Stop worrying....!

I don't get what the state is doing.

Maybe someone who has been following this can explain this.

Yes, I see new curbstones. I can understand new pipes under road.

Why didn't the state schedule this for after Labor Day?

Who or what entity makes these decisions? Name names. Other then the "state".

As has already been explained, as of this Friday June 8th, construction will cease and all will be restored to the previous flow of traffic, including the option of turning left from both lanes coming to the light from Hannafords.

This information comes from Mr. Sperry, who is is the New Hampshire Department of Transportation’s on-site contract administrator AND from engineering plans available online.

The summer traffic pattern will be pretty much the same as last summer, except perhaps for the new crosswalk location.

AFTER Labor Day, construction will start again and, I assume, be completed before winter.

Once the construction is finished, the traffic pattern will not be much different than it was except for the crosswalk.

Why not do it all after Labor Day? Not enough time. So some was done in the spring and some after Labor Day.

I think this will be better and safer once complete. It looks like the new crosswalk will have lighting, with the previous set up it could be very difficult to see people in the crosswalks at night.

Am I understanding this correctly? All those months of work and a lot of money spent and nothing has changed except new curbs and a crosswalk.

Seems like there was quite a bit of work necessary on the bridge over the water that drains from Waukewan. They dug up and replaced all the surface down to the support structure. Not sure what necessitated that. Also work on 25 in front of the bank. Drains?

Except for the crosswalk, this doesn't seem to have been meant to be a "fix" for traffic issues. Mostly repairs to existing road/bridge/drainage systems.

Does anyone know what's going on with the old hardware store building? It's starting to look pretty bad and should be torn down.

As it was explained to me :: The Old Hardware building and parking lot was bought by Rusty and the powers to be. A Three story building will be constructed there. 1st Floor will be retail shops.... 2nd floor will be offices... 3rd floor will be Condo's. I have heard this from a couple of people, So take it with a grain of salt.
