Cant remember the last time I dropped food on the floor of a public restaurant and wanted it back. Wow.

Default Shibleys

I also can't say enough good things about Shibleys, its food and employees. Always top notch from my perspective. I always stop there when I'm in Alton Bay.

Default After 12 years up here....

we went to Shibleys for the first time. Wow...the weather was perfect..no one on the roads during our long trek from Long Island. Even Wolfeboro was empty, relatively speaking.

Shibleys was great. Place was clean,no bugs on the screens, the sconces were sparkling and the little curtains on the top of the windows weren't even dusty ( and everyone agrees this is the mark of a fine restaurant.) The carpet was a little drab but I agree with Siksukr on this one. Rarely eat off the floor even within the 5 second rule. Even in my own kitchen...although there was the time with the pork belly. But I digress.

There was only one toilet each in the Men's and Ladies rooms. And a WOMAN came out of the MENS room before me. I am well trained so I put the seat down when finished, just in case. But I digress, again.

Anyway, the lunch choices were vast, the waiter was pleasant and the beer was cold. What more could one ask?

The prices were not low but the value in quality and quantity was high.

All in all, a great experience and we will return if I can ever get through Wolfeboro in the summer.

Oh,and the food was delicious.

Back at post #12 we had not had recent experience there. Stopped by for lunch at about 1pm today. Pretty busy for a Monday, sat at the bar for a 603 Winni ale and lunch. Looked like the deck was pretty busy from the waitstaff traffic.

Ordered lunch and chatted with Dave Shibly about hiking. Attentive barkeep service and lunch was very good. Amy Shibley came by later and we talked about hiking and biking the Belknaps. Now Dave & Amy work 10 hours a day to manage this special place and they take 2 hours a day every day to hike, bike or run in the Belmont Mt range. They are hard working caring locals that have built a successful business.

BTW when we left at about 2pm (on a Monday) all of the deck tables were all occupied. Now that is a vote of confidence.

Both the Dive and Shibley's at the Pier were featured on the WMUR Chronicle last evening. Dave and Amy Shibley are really nice people and turn out some really good meals.

We went to Shibley's last evening for our anniversary dinner. (She has put up with me for 42 years)! The table for two by the window had windows on two sides looking both across the bay and up the bay. Perfect.

I had the Atlantic Salmon, the Sassy version, and it was excellent. My wife had the Seafood Risotto and kept saying how delicious it was. Oh and a serving of Creme Brulee. And three times today she mentioned again how much she enjoyed it.

Many fond memories of this place! Once upon a time we were seated on the deck for dinner when (unbeknown to us) a water skiing show unfolded before our eyes. Also fun to be there in the winter when planes are landing on the bay.

Here's some more information on this historic location formerly known as Victoria Pier

My favorite place to bring visitors for lunch by boat! Great food, great views and great service!....And as you know Slick, if timed right, the boat ride home can offer a beautiful sunset with friends!
