When I see the fire boat arrive at the dock in Wolfeboro I know spring is coming. When the Mount arrives at the Weirs I am certain summer is around the corner. Welcome signs!

Did you see the story in the newspaper how Gilford is getting a new-used 30' fireboat basically for free from the City of Portsmouth, NH. This new boat is much bigger, enclosed, and has a much more powerful water pump than the 40-year old existing Gilford fire boat.
It looks like a modern Coast Guard style design and comes from the federal governments re-use system of high value items for local towns, and Portsmouth may not sell it, but only give it away to another town. Portsmouth got it from the federal gov, and does not really need it because the NHMP and the CG protects the Portsmouth waters. Believe it is bright red, and it should be easily identified from a distance what with its military looking design. Like ...... is that a water cannon on the bow .... or what?
