Default NH Boat Museum Boat Auction 2015

The NH Boat Museum Boat Auction is tomorrow 7/ 11 with previewing today from 12 - 5. Here is the link
http://www.nhbm.org/vintage-boat-auction/

This will be my first time going to this auction but many board members have said great things about it. I plan on going to the preview today and we will see about tomorrow. Here is a link to a discussion on last years Auction.

And yes I'm a bit scared because we still have an empty dock. I already have a "project" in the garage that I have not started because I am building a wooden kayak and that was a priority as it is on my Wife's side of the garage But the good news is, the new kayak will be splashed today. It's only taken 15 months to build ( well..... I was busy enjoying the new place every weekend

Viewed the boat, motors, and other items located in Wolfeboro.
Some interesting items.

If you are the type that likes auctions this would be a good take.
Or
If you like old boats and motors.

Eh. I need to head to TSC and Job Lots. Perhaps I'll swing in and check out the boat show.

We went to the viewing yesterday also. There are some vey nice woodie's to gaze at.. Talked to a few of the owners, if I was in the market for one I'd be bidding today, but alas, I'm not.

I'm looking for an older 15 HP for my project but none of the ones at the auction were in running condition, and since I already have one that's questionable but in good shape, I'll stick with that. Unfortunately I will not be able to meet Green Basin girl since if I do go I may get myself in "trouble" with the Electric Duffy boat. That would be very nice on Winnisquam. I'd love to go watch, but it's too nice today to fight traffic from Sanbornton too Wolfboro

Auction seemed a little "off" today. Nobody was bidding on the woodie's. Not a single bid on the premier boat in the auction. Seemed like last year a bunch of people got some decent woodie's for a good price. Today it seemed like nothing was getting close to the reserve if it got any bids at all.

The stock market has been very spooky lately. This may have left some sitting on their hands.

Thank you for the update. It's a shame about the woodie's as there were several smaller ones (17/18 footers) that seemed nice.

Did the Electric DUFFY boat sell? Or what was the reserve on it?

One thing I noticed on some of the smaller boats was a little time sprucing them up may have helped, even a quick sand and varnish. Also if the boat has an outboard, see if you can make it run. There were 2 that I would have Bid on just for the motor.

No bids on the duffy either. I searched online and the guy wants 69k for it. Says he paid 72k. Seems like a pretty big stretch to me. The auctioneer tried to get bidding started at 50k.

It is a very pretty boat. Not sure how practical it is though.

I know this is a fund raiser and all, but with a commission of 10% and a buyers premium of 12% on a very expensive boat is a pretty high hurdle to overcome.
