Default Electric Heatpump hot water heater

I am interested in purchasing a new water heater. There are electric water heaters that have a built in heat pump and I very much like the idea but have read they make a little noise.
Since I don't know anyone who has one that I can visit so as to listen to their unit, it occurred to me to ask the forum if any of you have a water heater like that and can offer any insight as to how loud it really is.
I have a dehumidifier located in the basement which I can hear very, very faintly when the house is real quiet and it's noise level is acceptable and was wondering if these new heat pump water heaters are about the same noise level?
Anyone care to share??

Personally I would use propane or oil, especially considering the initial cost and it's a tank with a 12 year warranty, which the tank companies have become very good at predicting when the tank will fail meaning usually about 6 months after the warranty is out.
