There has been a sign posted all week to expect delays at the Alton circle from 4-8 pm on Sunday after the race. All the Maine & Seacoast traffic takes 140 to 11. Add to that the Alton fire dept in past years staged a boot drive on Main St catching all those stuck in the sloowww traffic. I hope they don't do this again this year. The traffic backs up on both 11 & 28 south coming from Wolfeboro. Forget about heading to Hannafords or Johnsons during the mass exodus.

![]() ![]() You will have some problems here in Alton coming and going, but the wait isn't as long as some of the alternate routes, in fact I might say all the alternate routes. ![]() PS.. They even say our fire department needs your money in their boot drive. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Is there a race THIS weekend? If so, in your opinion, what is the best time to get through 93 North on Saturday to avoid the race traffic?

Don't believe the poster above, Saturday is a non-issue! You can also travel up 106 on Saturday morning if you want as well, it is actually really nice as it is 2 lanes all the way to the track. The only issue is every once in a while you get a dope that doesn't understand what is going on and they ride in the standard travel lane, but there are spots to get around them. |

I see multiple events on the track this weekend and I have no idea what kind of crowds the scheduled events will draw. Will Sunday be an issue around 93 in Concord? I have family from the Cape coming up to the lake on Sunday and I'd like to let them know when to avoid Concord....

The NASCAR race on Sunday I think starts at 1. Anytime before that and after the race will be tough for 93 in Concord. In BOTH directions. They close 1 North bound lane in Concord to create another southbound lane when the race lets out.

The past few years morning race traffic hasn't been too bad, but attendance has also been down at the track. This year is looking like more traffic, but the bulk of it is usually between 8am and 11am in Concord. Once you get past exit 15 it's usually clear sailing. Depending on where they are coming from, they might want to seek an alternate route, let me know if you need suggestions.

It is true, attendance is down. Before the economy sank in 2008, tickets were sold out a year in advance. Today you can still buy tickets at the gate. No need to buy from the scalpers. I ask for tickets for a fund raiser and they were glad to donate 4 tickets. Before 2008, they weren't donating.
I also notice ticket prices are down. Good news!

Even Sunday north bound on 93 is not that bad and ends at 15E, with 14 closed. Remember it is 3 lanes only a few miles before that point and it moves, but they can move around that as well. Just depends on where they are going. |

Thanks everyone! We had a nervous solo driver so we just adjusted her driving time to put her in Concord around 1p-ish and that worked out great
