You normally don't use the public ways box. You should enter zero,
Say you buy 200 gallons of gas in your farm tank and you have a receipt for that. Gas you used off public ways (like on the farm) is untaxed and gas you used on the public ways (roads) is taxed. But for boaters, all the gas on the receipt should go in the boat and be untaxed. Total all you receipts on the back in line 17, and copy in line 20. Line 19 is for International Fuel Tax, I'm guessing for truckers, I always leave it blank. |

I buy the gas from my Seadoo at the same gas station where I buy my gas. I submit those slips along with the slips from any marina I have been to.

I also buy my boat gas at a land based gas station. Just make sure you get receipt that has the gallons on it. As the tax is based on the gallons used, not dollars. I also add my boat registration number to the receipt, just in case.

Anyone know why ALL gas used off road in not eligible for the gas tax rebate?...such as gas used in mowers, augers, saws, trimmers, etc. The rebate appears to only pertain to recreational vehicles and some farm equipment.

When I filed, I also did the 3 gallons for the lawn mower, and with it all added up, I got the full amount..
