Hi
Just curious how prevalent garter snakes and water snakes are on the islands? More or less than on the mainland? Does it depend on the island? Thanks |

We have plenty of them on Welch. They are harmless and eat lots of critters! They love come out on the breakwater to sun themselves!

I rarely if ever see snakes on-shore or swimming near our shore. Cottage faces in the westerly direction. We are on the mainland.

Beverly Bear enjoys talking to the garter snakes at our cottage on East Bear Island, as well as visiting with other creatures that reside here.
