Center Harbor Town Beach
Over the years, I have tied up to the Center Harbor town docks and gone to use the beach right next door. No one has ever said a thing to us, we've always been respectful of the place. Recently, a friend of mine noted that the signage suggests that the beach is only for residents and guests.
Guess I was just wondering what the parameters of that are? Are people tied up to the town docks permitted to use the beach (i.e. are they "guests")? Ignorance of the rules is no excuse, but like I said, no one has ever said anything and it seems a common practice? Is it just not enforced? Just curious what the rule actually is? |

According to a Center Harbor notice these are the rules pertaining to beach use.
CENTER HARBOR BEACH The Center Harbor Beach will open with lifeguard supervision beginning Thursday, June 19th and ending Sunday, August 17th. Please follow beach and park rules, which are posted at the park entrances. Parents must watch their own children at all times. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis, except areas that are posted. The Center Harbor Town Beach is open to Center Harbor and Moultonborough residents, property owners and their guests only. |

Tomorrow is the day that few residents are able to use Weirs Beach and the garbage left behind, including diapers floating in the water, often closes the beach for a few days afterwards. This is also the Laconia Public water supply. No respect at all from the day guests, but no one seems to want to do anything about it. We are forced to use bottled water for the next two or three weeks. If you cannot swin in it, why would you drink it? R2B |

This seems sad to me- I used to play basketball at the Center Harbor basketball court all the time- dive off of the raft, hop back in my boat and cruise back to camp. Center Harbor will always be my favorite Summer resort, I hope all those years when I was a kit I wasn't trespassing!

To be fair, this year there was a huge crowd, but the beach was left fairly clean, at least the sandy and grassy part of it. I guess the water must have been clear as well, because they allowed the beach to open yesterday and today.
Started the bottled water today. Safety first. R2B |
