Ice Fishing 2-2-13
On Saturday, with some decent ice beneath us we were able to finally move the bob house out of the cove we were in to some decent fishing water. We landed 4 lakers, 1 fatty white perch and a salmon which was cut at the hole. The pic below shows the largest of the lakers we caught at 21 1/2" and rather skinny at only 2 3/4 lbs. The other lakers measured between 17" - 18" and looked exceptionally healthy. We kept this one laker as he was hook wounded pretty bad as well as the white perch. I wish I would have taken a pic of the white perch as he was a fat 14" long. All in all not a bad day considering we missed the morning bite.
Even though it was slippery, the pups still enjoyed themselves out on the ice. A few pics below... On to the Derby! Dan |

Dan, you look very pale, your eyes are blood red and your teeth are yellow, must've been a rough night.

Curious if you have picks or cleats on that Ranger Dan.

Actually neither, just rubber tracks and they grab fine on the ice, not great but good enough. Actually the ATV's had chains and they were slipping pulling the bob house. I had to get behind the house with the ranger to push it to get it going so the ATV's could move it. Once it was moving the ATV's had no issues. With snow, the Ranger is unstoppable, unless it sinks of course! (don't ask how I know!)

I know how you know cuz you told the tale here. And as far as no stopping, it sounded like you had an interesting journey this past weekend with the Ranger. Love to try that ride someday. Looks like fun.
