This should be a good one for the lakes region. Amounts will vary a bit by location, but it looks like a foot plus or minus the variation of a few inches pretty much everywhere in the lakes region. Mountains facing east will get the most. Folks in the wind shadow of these mountains will get less.
Great news for the sleds. If there is a bit of rain at the end, it will hold the snow in place. I am hoping that the lake is able to completely melt the snow and does not begin the freezing process with slush on the surface. That is a bad sign for the winter ice events all winter. If it starts badly, it does not get better. Enjoy the storm! R2B |

Here in Meredith at 7:30AM and we have about 2" on the ground. More of a wind storm at this point. From the radar it looks like the storm has yet to "fill in" in the Lakes Region...as BR said it's been breaking up in this area.

Definitely not a good snowstorm for snowmobilers in this area as all the exposed trails that I've seen are bare.

8:30-am here in Waterville Valley; temperature is 30-degrees, and maybe one to two inches of slushy snow fallen so far......all wind blown..... some big windy gusts all stirring it all up and around.......plus the flakes are very tiny right now so wait & see what happens here?

Winds are from 61 degrees at the moment. I'm thinking this is right around the direction where the Ossipees can cause a shadowing effect in this area? I know Meredith and Center Harbor still only have around 2". Maybe as the storm moves and the winds shift we'll start getting more snow but I'd rather be snowblowing in the daylight!

Here in the north side of Moultonboro bay, winds from the east, about 3 inches of snow, with wind gusts. Yes, we still have power here.

Here on Alton Mountain we have unblown snow about 3 to 4 inches and 2 or less in the blown areas. I have hardly heard a word on the scanner from the DPW here in town or they have gone to there backup Freq., actually the scanner is very quiet in all areas (fire, police and ambulances) for a stormy day.

There is currently a large dry slot from Keene to Laconia keeping the accumulation down. Dry slots are hard to predict.
It looks like there is still a good amount of snow to come once it re-starts. R2B |

We have 4 inches in Laconia, on the Belmont line. The wind is continually shifting direction form North to South and back with the snow blowing horizontal at times.

I'm getting reports of 20" in VT and Sugarloaf in Maine has over a foot with a lot of snowing to go.
I'm thinking we got a solid 8" but with all the blowing it is hard to tell. It will be interesting to see what the totals for NH are. It looks like the Saturday storm is going to be a central/southern storm but we wont know for sure until it is over. It looks like this was the last burst for us, time to go do clean-ups.

A truck hit a pole on 107 last evening so I couldn't get to 3 of my customers. That coupled with towns not having done their final pass as of 6pm so I waited till this morning to finish up, time to go.

September, 2011; bought a 24" sno-blower from Lowe's-Gilford that was on sale for one hundred dollars off at $599., and now finally, it looks like I get to use it ...... hurray for this snowstorm.......five inches of snow is all that fell on Meredith Neck.....what the heck.....plus it must be windblown all over.....but it's better than no snow!
Now, when will the lake be safe enough to get out and set up some tip-ups?

We may have gotten 6-8" over the storm in Laconia @CI. We got an additional couple inches since last night.

It looks like we only got 3-4". Laconia DPW claim 8.5" fell in Laconia. It must be the Winnisquam effect I am experiencing.

We are about a half mile above the lake, right above Keewaydin Park, and we have right at 6 inches, measured in several locations in the yard.

All that was there for snow down the end of meredith neck was about two to three inches or less......that's all.....barely enough for a snowblower....and it was a warm and sunny day with temps in the 30's.....felt almost like mid-summer what with the bright sun and total lack of any ice on the water.......where-o-where is winter......so ....what's up with the weather?
Up in Waterville Valley there was about six inches to clean off the car this morning.....and the www.waterville.com say they got 16".....16"......like who are they kidding...... ?
