I went out on Friday and today; there seem to be about the same number of PWCs as I recall seeing in the past. I am sure that it varies throughout the lake.
I believe that PWCs and pontoon boats are the fastest growing segment as the cost is less and the cost of ownership is less. Personally, I use my PWCs more than the boat just because they are more enjoyable. The boat tends to get used with guests and for family excursions. Jetskier ![]() |

i thought there were more of them too and wondered if it was tied to the price of fuel...seemed like years past they were mostly operated by younger folk, but seems like a more varied age segment recently...might be reading into this too much tho. i know i stay "closer to home" now due to fuel cost...although the lake speed limit does help with fuel consumption greatly...

Ok, now I get it.. jetski sounds like a Polish name. I'll admit a chuckle.
Of course, you don't see as many Kawasaki brand Jetski (tm) models these days. However, back in the late 80s / early 90s, they were the only game in town with the stand-up models and eventually a double seater. I used to call them "jetskis" all the time, and still do on occasion. Seadoo has become generic equivalent for most younger people, as BRP has been the dominant brand around here for the past decade or so. I definitely have seen more since the 4-stroke models became more prevalent. I'm sure it's a combination of fuel cost, ease of use, and overall fun factor. However, when I went was on my Seadoo this past Saturday, I was wishing I had taken the boat. It was COLD, especially when the spray was being blown back at me after cresting each wave. |

There are no more jetskis then any other year, I think they are more evident, do to the lack of boats on the lake.
