Forum Friends,
My daughter just called me to tell me she did not win, but came is a close... and I mean real close second.... less than 1 % delta in total votes between first and second place. I want to thank all of you who voted for her, it meant a lot to me The support my wife and I have received from forum friends, especially during the many Iraq and Afghanistan deployments of my son and son-in-law and now with my daughters quest to be the Marine Corps Military Spouse of he Year is greatly appreciated. My son is USN - retired. His first deployment was 6 months in the Persian Gulf from January to June of '03. He eventually went three more times in the course of four years, then two years in San Diego, before going into the reserves. He loved the Navy, but his wife wasn't thrilled about the life. We'll keep your family in our prayers. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

I also voted for your daughter Carrie. While she may not have one the "big" contest, I can assure you she won the hearts of all of us. I nominate and suspect she can be declared the unanimous FIRST winner of "The Winnipesaukee Forum US Marine Corp. Spouse of the Year". Maybe she can make Forum Fest some year and we an give her an official winner certificate !!! God bless all who serve and their families who are such vital links to their well-being.
