Local Movers
We are looking for some local movers to help us move from our Laconia home over to Moultonboro. Looking for reliable and reasonable folks. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There was a thread awhile back here about moving companies.
There are no local moving companies that I know of. For a professional moving company - Ray the Mover - in Manchester, NH. Ray the Mover 1 Allard Dr Manchester, NH 03102-4036 (603) 669-7170 One solution is to rent a Uhaul truck and hire guys/gals to move the stuff. Where do you find these people? Just ask around at any of the local watering holes, restaurants, convenience stores, or any local church/place of worship. |

We used Huff Moving and were totally satisfied with the quality, attention and price.

Local movers
Moving is a very stressful event, and not something to be left to amateurs, at least not if you value your furniture and have any valuable furniture.
We have moved twice within Wolfeboro, and each time we used William C. Huff Moving & Storage (1-800-247-5564). They will tailor their services to your needs, and we were extremely pleased. I strongly concur with the post by "new boater". |

I found huff to be very expensive and not overly cautious. I suppose it depends on who is on the team that day. I ended up with a broken piece of antique furniture, a broken chandelier, a big bill and they were late.

We used The Country Picker in Conway about 10 years ago. They did a good job with pretty short notice. We were moving from Conway to Gilmanton. There was another mover in Belmont that moved the large furniture from Gilmanton to Moultonborough in 2005. Unfortunately, I can't recall the name. They did a nice job also.
The best part of the Moultonborough move was a couple of high school kids we hired from an ad in the Penny Saver. We offered them $10 an hour each, and they worked their butts off. So much so that we paid them a generous bonus and had them come back a couple of days later to help us again. They're probably out of college and millionaires by now! |

We just used Huff for my in-laws and they were on time, friendly, capable and good with our furniture. I'd highly recommend them.
