Seems to be fewer Mass, Conn. and RI tags around now that you mention it.
I wonder if the slowness is being experienced equally across the region. I'm thinking the Weirs attracts more folks that stay a duration of 2-7 days, while Wolfeboro seems to be more second-home based. With $4 gasoline, were I to live in Boston, I might be less likely to take a day trip to the Weirs, but if I were a second homeowner, I wouldn't let that get in my way. (Assuming that if you have the $$$ for a lakehouse, an extra $20 in travel costs shouldn't be a deal breaker).
