Default Pine Island Cam is up!

For another view out on to the lake:

http://mysite.verizon.net/pineisland/PineIslandGuy.jpg

It has also been added to the "RattleSnakeCam" portfolio...

I still have a bit of work to adjust the image for bright sun and snow, please be patient while I tune things up...

Enjoy!

Thumbs up

Congratulations Pine Island Guy!

I notice that the image is 1280 by 960, fantastic. From the size and the header I'm thinking you are using a StarDot NetCam Megapixel. I have been planning to change to that camera in the spring. The image is black now but we should have some great images tomorrow.

Default Welcome!

Glad to have your cam on the Lakes Region Webcams page. It helps round out the tour around the lake.

Good luck with the cam, I love the view.

Default further details...

Thanks to everyone who helped me along the way and gave me advice (including the posts on other threads with great information)!

The camera is mounted pointing almost due east, if you look closely you can see a fleck of orange which is the #4 light buoy straight out from my house. My camp is just out of range on the left side from the Bear Cam view.

Good detective work Bear Islander... it is a Netcam MP and and thanks to DSL on the island (who would have thought i could get it there), I have some remote configuration/control over it. The only down-side that I've seen so far is that the aperture setting is very finicky, and can't be controlled remotely... right now it is a shade too open, causing a lot of wash-out with the snow/sun reflection... i'll try to fuss with it this weekend.

After the next full moon, i'll set it to stop capturing images at dusk, but was curious how good the night image would be with a full moon reflecting off the snow

any/all comments and suggestions are appreciated!

P. I. G. --- I know I'm going to hate myself for abbreviating your user name like that...

What a difference a day makes... I'm almost 10 minutes later than yesterday's first glance and what a great sunset picture. Can't wait for summer, and can't wait for the foliage shots next fall!!!! should be spectacular!!!!

Nice job and keep it Pine Is Guy...

Default A great treat!

Thank you, Pine Island Guy. The view is outstanding! Our annual Winni vacation is on the other side of Pine. We so look forward to the family gathering each summer. Now we can feel a little closer to the vacation spot all year round...

You guys on Pine have DSL! We can't get anything on Bear.

I wonder if I can lay an underwater cable across the gap and get DSL?

Let's see, we start with a wireless router on Pine Island

Then we put a range extender out on that black tipped spar, powered by a solar panel...

And set up the wireless set up by the Bear cam...

Naw, that wouldn't work...we'd end up with a huge raft of boats with their laptops, clogging up the channel... ....But that's a whole other thread!!!!!

Better wait for the telephone cable to make it over to Bear is.

Seriously, great stuff from both cams for that section of the lake. Keep it up.

Thanks for the View Pine!
I love to see live pix of the lake - makes my absence a little less painful!
