When the old Village Perk went out, I was dismayed. They always had great sandwiches and soups, a place to relax in, or use your laptop in, and really clean bathrooms. Then, I think I remember reading some thread on here that they had closed and then re-opened while later but by a new owner and with a different kind of approach. Can't find the thread. Is it breakfast only? Do they still serve sandwiches? Did they change the decor? Anybody been there?

Kind if like the old EF Hutton commercial, I overheard one of the owners saying that he would like to recreate as a Tapas type place. I think like many they found it is pretty good here in the summer but the off seaon can be challenging.
I wish them well, we need more options. |

I hear that they have a sign in the window that they're re-opening after the first of the year under new management. Trying to re-open in the winter months? I wish them luck... I think that's pretty brave.

Just stopped by the Village Perk - looks like the have officially reopened! Although a little short staffed- which I suppose is to be expected at a new place - everything seemed great. Had an awesome cappuccino and the pastries were both good and fresh. It was a huge improvement over the most recent owners. I wish them the best of luck - its a great location and Meredith could use good coffee!!!

So I've now had breakfast there a number of times and lunch twice. They really sees to be doing a great job with everything (the breakfast burrito rocks!). Make sure you try it if you get a chance. With Abondante having closed Meredith is in desperate need of a good coffee shop / cafe!

The Village Perk in Meredith is open and under new management. They have great breakfast and lunch selections and very friendly service. I was told they serve breakfast all day too.
They are open 7 days a week from 7am-5pm. I spoke with the owner today and he told me they are having an open house (with live music) on Saturday, February 13th. If you are around, stop in and check it out. |
