Default Not a restaurant post but not getting any replies in outdoor section

Okay so like I said, this is not a restaurant post but I am trying to find a good place to go apple picking this year with my daughter. We went to Hollow Hill in Tamworth last year and it was good but we really want to find a place that has large, juicy apples. We will travel to Maine or Vermont and make a day of it. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

Default Meadow Ledge Farm in Loudon

My recommendation in this area is Meadow Ledge Farm on Rt 129 in Loudon. It is about 4 miles from the Rt 129/Rt106 traffic light. They take you out to the back fields by hay wagon behind a tractor. You can pick at your pace, the "shuttles" run non-stop. They will help you if you need or want it, they also make apple donuts that are handed to you hot out of the oil in any quantity you desire. This place fills up fast and the line for the donuts gets long. Started seeing cars in the field on Monday, but that seams a scowsh early to me. But they also have nice pumpkins and little gifts in the barn to look at as well.

Here is a link to check out.

That link has just about every "pick your own" farm in the country listed so if you do feel like taking a ride I am sure you will find some neat places to check out.

My disclamer, I am old friends with the owner of this farms son, I do not have any financial interest in this farm as it is still owned and run by the Roberts family and they have been doing it for years. They take great pride in what they do and their crops speak volumes to that. I am a suggesting this farm because you asked for a GOOD apple farm and these folks have it, you do not need to drive out of state. Hope this helps.

A very nice Vermont trip. Great bakery items as well.

A recommendation for a great place on the lake to stay. Just up the road a piece
