A Handyman Christmas Gift List from Lakes Region Home

‘Tis the season again and while most people may have other things on their minds there are a few holiday home shoppers still poking around under the tree for a new house for their families. My best advice to anyone trying to sell their home during the holiday season is to make sure it exudes a colorful festive spirit and décor…but don’t overdo it too much. Remember, buyers are trying to see your home and not the decorations....

Got Wood

Posted 11-04-2016 at 11:24 AM by Roy Sanborn

Got Wood? The Lakes Region Real Estate Market Report

It’s November. And here in the Lakes Region it’s getting colder. Yup, it is downright frosty some mornings. So it is time to crank up the wood stove. This year I decided to try some kiln dried firewood instead on the seasoned wood I got last year to see how it burned in comparison. Kiln dried wood is, well, it is kiln dried like in a big oven. I had a cord delivered and dumped on the lawn next to the basement door. I paid...

If you are like me, you start thinking about a new season of oil bills or stacking bags of pellets or cord wood. It is the “batten down the hatches” time of year and prepare for another six months of cold, snow, slush, and darkness....

Got a New Phone?

Posted 09-15-2016 at 02:32 PM by Roy Sanborn

Got a New Phone?

Every time you buy a new phone, even if it is just the newest version or upgrade of your current model, there seems to be a very large learning curve trying to get used to it. The manufacturers always seem to change something. You can’t seem to navigate it correctly, you drop calls because you pushed the wrong button, you can’t even seem to answer a call because you can’t find the right button, and God help you if you are on a call and you get another one beeping...

The very first thing people see when coming to your home is your yard art. And it can make a positive or negative impression. But, some people think that they may have too much yard art...
