Old CIA/Marines Plane at Laconia Airport

The plane shows nose damage - missing a piece of cowling, missing prop hub cone, and has a bent prop. Searching for its tail number reveals other info: It's last recorded landing was at Kill Devil Hills, NC in Sept of 2009, no indication of whether or not the damage happened there. The "CIA" marking on the tail is actually "CNA" and is a trademark for Cessna and the registered owner as a gentleman from Newbury, NH.

How it got to Laconia is not explained.

We had a squadron of these C-337's, USAF name O-2, when i was stationed in Thailand at NKP. Squadron callsigns were Nail xx. Fun to control.

Bent prop means that engine needs to be disassembled and inspected, it's a bummer.

Interesting about this post is that the CIA (yes the real CIA) used several Cessna 337's in the 60's and 70's in some "projects" in Central America and South America. Google it....
