From a pictorial folder by Tichnor Bros. "Lusterchrome" - "The Weirs Bay - The Weirs is a popular resort on the western side of the lake and is the chief port on its' shores reached by the railroad. It is the scene of much activity in the summer, particularly when regattas are held. It is the starting point for the M.V. Mt. Washington Boat trip, a most wonderful experience not excelled anywhere in the United States."
