So Where Was That Bridge? (Main Street - September 2004) The bridge shown in last months Main Street is the predecessor to the bridge that spans the Merrymeeting River at the base of Alton Bay. One response stated, "...it is the Merrymeeting River bridge, next to what is now Parker Marine, around 1910. I have a photograph of my mother sitting on the rail with her father holding her, when she was about four years old. She was born in 1906."

There is what appears to be the remnents of a bridge in Center Harbor that looks somewhat like that. Not sure thought.
