Lake weeds
Does anybody know anything about these lake weeds? They seem to grow in sandy areas and send a stalk up to the surface. Underwater, they are large mats of short green leaves. I was trying to look up these weeds to see if they were invasive but didn't have any luck. There seem to be more of them than in years past and in the areas where we swim I've been able to easily weed them out by diving down and pulling them up with my hands. Is this short to medium term effective? It looks real nice where I've "weeded"...all white and sandy and nice to walk on again. Anyone know the name of this aquatic plant?

Aquatic weeds
I think it's called pipewort. Some years it seems much more prolific than others.

here's a good site
I have referred to this website often when in question of what is growing around our dock, and have found it quite useful!
