Alton Bay photo
Been a visitor along this road since the early seventies (countless bike weeks'). And made this corner a hundred times on the way to the Weirs. I'm sure many of you have this masshole beat though!
Can I get a date on this old photo I recently purchased please? It appears a significant road isn't installed yet. In addition, I see; Bay View Pavilion, Shell gas $.17/gal and I recognize a standee Fro-joy sign just before the gas pumps and elec lights on the porch. Fro-Joy inserted Babe Ruth baseball cards in their ice cream 1927 -1928. I believe this company was established in the mid late teens-early twenties. Need to dig deeper. Also, seems Sandy Point was a larger peninsula at one time. If that's the piece of land out in the Bay, of course. We'll be back on Scenic Dr this weekend, finally! Thanks for looking, Steve F inset; Last edited by oche16; 06-06-2012 at 08:32 AM. Reason: upgraded scans |
