Here in Dallas we're freezing with ice and snow still on the roadways making traveling to Arlington, home of the Super Bowl, very scary. We just can't handle this stuff on the roads. The player buses the other day followed a sand truck to the stadium. We don't have plows, had to import them from another part of the state, and we have a very limited amount of the salt stuff. But, the Super Bowl must go on and Jerry Jones is still smiling and making money. Although he would smile alot more if his "Cowgirls" were playing. Can ya tell I'm a Giant Fan?!

Most folks I know aren't doing anything special for the Superbowl. Suffering from a Rex Ryan hangover.

With zero interest in the outcome, it is just another game.

As a very nice day is on tap for tomorrow (sun, 34 warm degrees), outside activities are planned.

I hope it's not on during the same time as Top Chef. That would create quite a fight over the remote around here.

Who even cares about the Superbowl ???? I was planning a huge party for the Pats............and they got ambushed by the hated Jets.
Just got back from 80 degree weather in south Florida and spent the day shoveling my shed, decks and bedroom roof.
Think I'm going to slip my wrists

Default Superbowl

Well, I'm glad a few folks are going to celebrate. Surprised at the general lack of interest. I'm not a fan of the commercials or the half-time nonsense. I just wanna watch the game. Hope its a close one, not a blow-out.

How can you be surprised? We're New Englanders. We're passionate about our local teams. Our hearts were broken three weeks ago. While it wasn't quite Buckneresque or Grady Little having a brain burp, it was tough!

How many days 'till the Truck leaves from Fenway?

Default Truck leaves Fenway...

this Tuesday, (2/8). Can you believe they have actually sold the "rights" to the truck leaving Fenway to ... JETBLUE...

With Jetblue's record for on-time departures and arrivals... it will probably really leave Thursday and arrive 2 days late! But remember, only the first checked bag is free.

We don't have a horse in this race, but figure it'll be fun to get together and have some appetizers and beers. We are also part of a football pool at my partner's work and have a bunch of boxes filled in so $$ are at stake.

Hoping for a close game, but that's about it.

For all the Pats fans who were mortified by that pathetic playoff game, don't feel so bad, my partner is an avid Oakland Raider fan.

Default I'm in...

Super Sunday has been my Christmas Day for 12/15 years now.
Gotta tell you John60ri...I fancy myself as big a sportsfan as their is...my life revolves around sports...all of it...watch 7/10 college basketball games a week, this time of year. And plenty of Bs and Cs. If I have learned one thing over the years...talking to people locally, and travelling to an endless numebr of road games...People here in New England just are not sports fans. Oh, they like to pretend like they are. But, truth be told, they are Red Sox/ Patriots/Bruins/Celtic fans...and that's not the same thing. They are home team fans, but not overall fans of the sports. And, sadly, most are fair weather fans...team has to be winning for them to care. News flash...the NE Patriots existed before 2001. I remember game after game sitting in the old stadium, with 35/40 K fans...real fans. And loved it...2-14? Who cares...it was NFL football.
And Red Sox "pink haters"???? You can have 'em!
Anyway...my plans...leaving this very second for TD Garden...The Fours sports bar for 12:30 NHL Hockey game, and 1PM Ohio State college hoop...going to Celtic's game at 2:30...then back to NH...the four of us will join up with another group of 8...12 hard core football fans, watching game at a house party...all with good size action on the line. Christmas Day, baby!

I gotta work but Argie and the Arglets will watch most of it. I have bbq pork simmering in the Crock Pot for them. I hope to be home by half-time.

I'm in it for the commercials and the half time show - The Black Eyed Peas.

I like to watch football but don't understand a lot about the game... The sounds of the game usually put me to sleep (it's comforting, at least, to me...) but Argie doesn't like it when I snooze during a game. Instead of beer, I guess I'll be drinking coffee.

Can be counted on to watch the Super Bowl no matter who is in it. Obviously would prefer to have the Pats playing but then again, I AM A MEMBER OF "WAITED ALL MY LIFE FOR BOTH A WORLD SERIES WIN AND A SUPER BOWL WIN!" In the past decade, we have had two world series wins and three super bowl wins. WOW. Quite a change and grateful for what we had.

There are other teams who need a win for their fans too afterall. Today I think I will hope that Green Bay wins as they play in our league. I will be happy no matter who wins. I guess last year I felt it would be nice to have New Orleans win as they were playing in New Orleans and New Oreans had suffered that awful damage with all the flooding etc. What a shot in the arm for that city to have a Super Bowl win at that time.

I guess we all need to have our teams win once in a while, but boy 67, 75, 86 Red Sox were tough years for me. I think I had the kids in Aruba when the Pats finally went to the Super Bowl and lost big. Don't remember the year and no time to look it up as I have to chop some ice in the driveway before it refreezes. This year it is a time for Green Bay or Pittsburgh. I think it will be a good game and plan to be right here watching it. I guess for me it is going to have to be "May the Best Team Win!" Hope you all have a lovely Sunday no matter what you do!!! Wish this happened when Brett Fauve were still with the Packers!

It's all about the food over here. Bringing stuffed jalapenos and buffalo chicken dip to a party where I know there's gonna be some carnitas. And some beers to cool things down, hopefully!

Best part of this super bowl is that the Jets are not in it.

Brady voted MVP. First time it has been a unanimous vote by the writers.

I loved the House ad.

Default I Hear 'Ya, RG...

Yes it is disappointing that with the way the Pats played so well all of and through 2010.

Us tried and true fans however will stand behind them and just maybe, they will take and 'winni a fourth Superbowl for us next year. They have the talent and drive to do it!
Just stay tuned.

Terry

Can't resist a comment on the half time show. One of the most ridiculous spectacles I've ever seen. Even with the sound turned off it was unbearable. Absolute nonsense. And the only funny commercial was the little kid dressed up as Darth Vader.

Yeah, that was exceedingly lame. However, the best was watching Christina Aguilera's epic national anthem failure. How can anyone born in this country, and presented with an opportunity like the Super Bowl, screw that up?

Classic.

The halftime show would've rock had they just canned the peas (no pun intended) and let Slash wail with his current band.

I like The BEP - that performance was horrible. Auto-tune is good to them, I guess. Some groups aren't that good live - that was one of them. Yuk! I agree with Grant's comments about Slash... I was hoping for more... no dice.

I'd rather see a good service academy marching band doing the half-time show, and one of their choruses or soloists singing the anthem - especially after last night.
