Default Best kid marina??

Hi all, I'll be back on winni this season after a 11 year hiatus to raise some kids!!!! I am soooo excited

Anyway, so now my kids are 13 and 10 and I would like to find a slip for our 28' boat that will be a kid friendly environment. I am envisioning a marina where our kids will meet other kids and play as my wife and I sit on the boat in the slip and sip cocktails. Does this exist?

Thanks!
Woodsy

Default Kids & marinas

First, if you don't have the right place, call us. We would be happy to sit on your boat and sip your cocktails while you play with your kids.
Second, this is a perfect age to teach kids boating skills and responsibility, navigating, hauling up the anchor, "wax on, wax off, how to dock between two other boats at the Weirs, where all the ice cream places are that have docks nearby.
Third, you're going to put your kids in a marina? And rob them of eight weeks of overnight summer camp? Think of all the kids they can play with.

I understand from friends that Spinnaker Cove is k,id friendly. I think you can walk to the Weirs from Akwa. From Fay's, Silver Sands and Mountain View YC you can walk to a beach, Sawyer's Ice Cream and Meadowbrook. I suspect the"condo/clubs"" are a little better for kids since they are more focused on social activities instead of running a marina/business.

I would give Akwa marina a serious look.... they have a pool, hot tub, restaurant and a beach. Everytime I have visited there for a few adult beverages there have been plenty of kids around. They are walking distance to the Weirs as well.

Default +1 for Akwa

Akwa Marina would be a great choice if you have kids!
