Crossing From Cattle Landing - Bear Island
Thank you for your time. I was wondering if anybody had been near Meredith Neck and Bear Island recently and could report on the Ice Conditions? I was planning on making the crossing from Cattle Landing over to our camp which is near the boys camp this Friday. I would be walking across with snow shoes but I know the ice can be quite funny in that area and I have not been up there for three weeks. Any new major ridges over near Mark? Is the ice pulling away from the shore? Any help would be great. If I can make it this will be the last trip via foot and before you know it we will all be boating again.

It looks very safe from the road. Still seeing snowmobiles all over in the vicinity. No new open water opening up...it looks like winter...ice fisherman & atv gear out towards Mark Isl.
You could probably land a B52 out on what's there for ice conditons.
