Default Hotels/Motels in area

We are heading up to the lake the last weekend in Sept for a road race. Our family house in Tuftonboro is "booked" by family members that weekend, so we unfortunately need to find a hotel/motel to stay at. We've never stayed anywhere else besides our house, so I was hoping to get some suggestions as to where to stay...looking for something clean, convenient to the lake (either side) and inexpensive. Anyone know of some good places to recommend? Thanks in advance!

You could try the Wolfeboro Inn or perhaps the Lakeview Inn. The Wolfeboro Inn is right on the lake and Lakeview is a short ride away.

Default Pine View Lodge

I believe the Pine View Lodge in Melvin Village would fit all of your requirements, and would cost far less $ than either the Lakeview Inn or Wolfeboro Inn.

We've stayed in both the Wolfeboro Inn (before the renovation) and the Lakeview Inn and were very satisfied with both. However, if $$ is a concern, I would go with the Lakeview.

How about trying the other side of the lake at the BELKNAP POINT MOTEL ?

You can't get much closer to the lake!

Default Or to be really on the water in Alton

try Sandy Point Motel
http://www.sandypointbeachresort.com/

or Bayside Inn

http://www.bayside-inn.com/

or King Birch

http://www.kingbirchmotorlodge.com/

Off season and before peak foliage...chances may be good for vacancies. Good Luck.

Default Pine View

I know the folks that run the Pine View. They're great people and have a full service restaurant. Ask for Sheila.

Ames Farm Inn has beautiful lakefront, a variety of options, and an on site restaurant. You can rent a dock, too, if you want to get to the other side of the lake by boat.

Default Thanks!

Thanks so much for your responses. This has been super helpful. I think we are going to end up staying at the Lakeview Inn. Seems to be the most reasonably priced w/ some good reviews. Thanks again!
