Default Leavitt park beach

The town of Meredith the stewards of Leavitt Park Beach have not been doing a good job for many years now. They let the beach turn to dirt and grass and can't even mow the grass this year. There is an erosion problem that hasn't been addressed that is sending all the sand in the water. 23 years ago when I first got here Leavitt park beach was a beautiful asset to the town of Meredith now its an embarrassment.

Arrow One dollar/year lease with SAU-2 for five years

Hey there, maybe the Town of Meredith would be interested to lease Leavitt Park Beach to SAU-2, the Inter-Lakes School District which serves Meredith, Center Harbor, Sandwich, and Ashland students. Lease it out to SAU-2 for one dollar per year with a 5-year self-renewing lease and after five years for a second five year lease, if both sides are happy to do so at that time.

The school district could use Leavitt Park Beach ...... www.theswimguide.org/beach/7617 ..... to build a seasonal dock, teach swimming, splash n' burn water exercise class, sailing, paddling, beach volleyball, adult swimming, adult water exercise class, bar-b-q's, picnics and sing-a-longs ..... open to Meredith, Center Harbor, Sandwich and Ashland students and residents.

For boats they could accept a couple donated sailboats and a few el cheapo fixer-upper paddle canoes and kayaks including a donated fixer-upper seasonal dock. Older students could volunteer with Leavitt Park maintenance as needed.

Maybe rent the small sailboats and paddle boats out at $20/hour at certain times to residents of the four towns, Meredith, Center Harbor, Sandwich and Ashland.

Sounds like you already have a business plan worked out.
Why don't you lease it from the town?
"FLL Watersports" has a nice ring to it

Why don't you lease it from the town

If the Inter-Lakes School District, SAU-2, were operating Leavitt Park Beach, it could support activities participation like swim lessons and sailing/paddling by students and residents from Meredith, Center Harbor, Sandwich, and Ashland.

Leavitt Park Beach is located on Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith, but very close to Center Harbor, just down the Bean Rd. from Sandwich, and a quick 15-minutes from Ashland with no stoplights going up and down Dane Hill.

Leavitt Park Beach includes a natural sandy beach of about 300' on a fantastic, super-terrific Lake Winnipesaukee big water spot and about 600' shoreline of heavily forested old trees directly on the water's edge.

Leavitt Park Beach is managed by the Meredith Parks and Recreation Dept with little to no activities that include any INSTRUCTED PARTICIPATION by children or adults.

It is basically a very very nice natural location that is "just there" for Meredith residents only, effective 2023, only to sit on the sandy beach or walk into the water .... and not much of any activity participation happens there.

The Inter-Lakes School District, SAU-2, could do a heck of a lot more with it than the Meredith Parks and Recreation Dept, what's not happening for local student and adult activities.

Maybe the residents of Meredith do not want that option.
