Default House Fire in W. Alton

Does anyone have any info as to the cause of a fire that burned a home on Smith Point Rd. in West Alton. No one was living in it and the few neighbors in the area never heard fire equipment arriving. Apparently it happened in the early hours of Friday.
Always sad to hear this type of news especially at holiday time.

Well that’s convenient, that property is for sale. They also bought the Heiligmann’s old house next to the wise owl (tooth acres) and had their dock ripped out! and made the town put up cement pillars on the beach, so there would be no water access to the wise owl. Very inconvenient.

Holey Cow. I know who those owners are. Did it burn to the ground? Anyone see any newspaper articles about it?

Default Sorry

I have seen nothing in the Citizen, the Daily Sun, and today's Baysider has only a picture of the house while it was fully engulfed (photo on pg 1 lower right corner.).

Default And on page 4

of the Baysider, a photo by Tim Croes shows just an old telephone booth standing next to the rubble of the house. Looks like a total loss, with only ashes remaining.

I believe this is the photo by Tim Croes of the Baysider newspaper that Upthesaukee was referring to.
