Default local caterer

Hi all. This is my first post here, and as you all seem so knowledgeable about the area, I figured it was better to use the forum than the yellow pages! I am trying to find a catering service in the area that would be available to do a wedding and/or rehersal dinner at my lake house next summer. Of course we aren't looking to spend our life savings on these events, but the food quality is our number one priority. Any suggestions would be great... thanks in advance!

Just had Mame's cater a party for us last Saturday for 50 people. Everyone was delighted. It was more informal than a rehearsal dinner but I'm sure they can step up to the plate. I understand they cater several affairs on Beaver Island every year. Give them a try.

Try www.muddyriver.com. We used them for a wedding last year and we are using them for another wedding in 2 weeks. Great food, reasonable price.

How much money are you prepared to spend per person? That makes all the difference because some caterers specialize in basic, family style meals and others lean toward upscale and creative menu's.

These caterers are recommended in a thread from last year:

Muddy River Smokehouse
Hart's Turkey Farm
Mame's

Here's the thread from the old forum archive. It's slow so be patient.

Sally,

Another great caterer is Patrick's.

I am using Curt's Caterers for my wedding in two weeks. They have a vast array of food choices, and it's all much more interesting than your standard oversauced chicken in a chafing dish. Their prices are competitive, and all their references had great things to say about them. I can't give a firsthand report yet, but the food at our tasting was wonderful! Good luck.

Default Caters

We had Mame's do a cookout for over 100 guest and it was great. This year we are having the Lyons Den cater our family reunion.
