Talking Caption that Photo !

OK everyone, I just had an idea. (Hey, hey, hey I can hear that groaning. No groaning until later) I noticed one of IG's photos (The plane, the plane) in the random pics pile and combining that with a similar "contest" over at another forum I frequent (www.space.com) it occurred to me that we should have our own "Caption that Photo" thread. (groaning now permitted) The concept is to take (or otherwise find) a picture of something lakes regiony and have everyone add an "appropriate" caption. Once played out (or every couple of weeks) a new picture is put up for our amusement. What do you think ? RG's new avatar inspired me to resurrect this image ...

http://www.winnipesaukee.com/forums/...8&d=1117038602

for which I propose the following caption ...

Martian dad to 2 teenage sons: "Who drove the saucer home from the party on Phobos last night ?"

Now it's your turn to add a different caption for this picture.

ps - if someone can tell me how to imbed the image in the post w/o attaching it, I'd appreciate it. I wrapped the image tags around it but all I got was a link.

...Toto...I don't think we're in Kansas anymore.... (????I'm not too good at these things)
Mac....right click on the image
.....click on properties
....highlight the url and capture it to your clipboard by hitting 'control' and and the 'c' (c=copy) key simultaneously..

NOW.......
.....go to the thread where you want to insert the photo and place your cursor where you'd like the photo to be and click on that little yellow icon with the image of the mountain and postage stamp thingy
......placed the url in the dialogue box**** by hitting the 'control' key and the 'v' key (v=velcro) simultaneously....and there you go.
(****be sure to remove the prompt in the dialogue box before pasting in your url)
(RLW will say that my instructions are clear as mud. Please help clarify if you can!)
PS - I couldn't find the thread with that exact image...HELP!

In other news...

Project Rock Bass has received Federal funding and procured a submersible research vehicle that will be deployed in a taxpayer-funded attempt to finally confirm or deny the existence of the elusive Rock Bass in Winnipesaukee.

Man Mcdude, those instructions are as clear as thick mud and one would need to plan on at least a 1/2 day to perform all of that. Can't you find an easier way of doing it?

IG & RG you missed the underwater research facility in Lake Winnipesaukee. This is Rattlesnake Island. Head WNW. You must have used one of RG’s antique maps.

Default "Lobbie" stolen.......

As reported on CNN this morning....."Authorities have cast a Lake's Region wide net searching for Pepper's secret lobster cooker. In an early morning brazen holdup....three masked men apparently posing as "Forum Festers" robbed Barbara's....I mean Pepper's restaurant and made off with the super secret device.

The FBI, in conjuntion with the CIA ( Culinary Institute of America), has pulled out all the stops in this case.

A spokesperson for the world famous restaurant stated later that Pepper won't press charges as long as her "Lobbie" (as she affectionately refers to the contraption) is returned unharmed. The spokesperson, identified only as "IG" says that Pepper and her highly trained chef Waldo, are devastated by the action of a few "Festers", and further stated that these theives can have all the wonderful lobster rolls they want....for a fee........"

Wink UFO Submarine

You all thought that aliens came from outer space,
Surprise! We’ve been here all along in the lake!
Didn’t you notice how many UFO sightings there were in the Lakes Region?
And why else would the Navy be at Lake Winnipesaukee? We were having a summit!

Actually a post card, and on the back side is the following message (you have to stand behind your monitor to read the message)

"Dear Kbarliliztakk:

I landed in West Alton, Earth just like you suggested. However, it is not the quiet little spot you told me about. The place is crawling with aliens, and some of them are kinda wild. Just the other day, some of the female ones had a sleepover, and had what they called "guys" there as well. They make a big deal about the "ice" going out, and I can not, for the life of me, find out where it has gone out to. It just seems to disappear. Maybe we can do the same thing with the ice in the canals at home. They also make a big deal about "lobsta rolls", which evidently come from a creature that looks remarkably like your sister Hgvnretyy. I'm thinking these aliens must also be cannibals! They actually get these things at a place with an ancient flight machine on its roof. Must not be very good at flying, it never seems to go anywhere. Got to go, it's time to go over to a place called Minge Cove and see if there any more wild parties. Talk to you soon. Xaridhtihhhke."

...This is Supreme Leader Kbarliliztakk!

Supreme Leader Kbarliliztakk, exactly where assigned, we have attempted a landing upon Earth's surface; however, an Invisible Force Field of exactly 210-Arshins in height is preventing actual contact with Earth. Is permission granted to step from our craft onto the Invisible Force Field under cover of darkness?

Over...
