Default Pothole in Center Harbor

Has anybody else seen, hit and/or almost hit the *ginormous* pothole / road cliff on the driveway next to the Coe House?

2 of them.....very dangerous. looks like there was some spray paint around them yesterday so hopefully they will be repaired soon. Pulled in to get ice cream at Deweys last night and saw the hole. deep and dangerous

I think they've been nurturing that one for a year or two now.

I believe they are waiting for the second round of Federal stimulus money. It is indeed large....maybe a call to the town hall might get someone over to throw in a few shovels of asphalt in the interest of tourism. I'm not in town or I would stop by their office to submit a work request in person. Maybe someone locally can do this tomorrow morning, so it may get fixed before the weekend. Someone could even break a leg in the hole in the dark if they walk near it.

I just missed it in my wife's Corvette with a 3 inch clearance and fiberglass bumper. It is scary.

I think that pothole is on private property.

And who owns or is responsible for this entryway to all of those buildings and stores? Could be one owner with a right of way for others.

I guess one would have to find out who the actual owner of that entryway is? Coe House? Businesses on left? Heaths? Quilting people?

Sorry Tummyman, but all the local Center Harbor, Federal stimulus money, about $750,000, went to replace the two old 1940's marine diesels in the Mount Washington with two new, bright yellow Caterpillars in 2009.......except the new engines no longer make that well known chug-chug-chug sound of a very heavy, low rpm marine diesel. The long reverred chug-chug-chug sound of the Mount has left the lake forever thanks to Obama-Bucks and an engine upgrade.

Maybe a President Romney can bring back that chug-chug-chug sound and fix that pot hole? If he could bring mandatory health insurance to all 6,000,000 Massachusetts residents, then yes, he can probably fix that gigundic pot hole!

ITD: has it really been there that long?? Oh my...

My in-laws are up at their summer place and they hit it about 3 weeks ago. They were coming from the post office and pulling into the upper driveway to go to Heath's (usually pull in the lower driveway; therefore didn't know it was there) and by the time they noticed it, they had hit it... Did a lot of damage to their front end, underneath. They did a report with the town (I think) and I was surprised to see it was still there this weekend when I was there. It is quite large, I can't believe its not fixed yet. It's like a cliff!

It's been there a long time, at least one year, maybe two. I just kind of instinctively steer around it now, plus it's a little easier to take in a Grand Cherokee. Be careful.

Default Pothole

Yes, my car found itself in the pothole before I realized it was there.

Does anyone happen to have a photo of it for those of us not in the area?

I hit one in RI once, blew the tire, bent the rim, bent a tie rod, and bent strut spring. I was doing 45, wow was it scarey

what am I talking about I live in MA now, I hit potholes so much they get insulted when you avoid them and I bring them presents at Christmas because they have become close friends

Around 5pm today (Friday) I went into the upper entrance to the Heath's area parking lot, right by the Coe House as desccribed. What had been several potholes now seem to have been repaired. I went around them anyway, in the course of checking out the repairs through the side window. Forum power!

How big does a pot hole have to get before it is simply a dip in the road?

Dips in the road you can't see, pot holes you can.

Dips in the road will move if you beep the horn long enough.

Smile Why I Enjoyed My Float Boat...

I used my pickup when I first moved up in here on Paugus Bay to negotiate some of the potholes what existed around here in them times! You should have been around when I drove up onto the boat ramp in Wolfeboro from the Lake in my 1979 Ford pick-me Up, from Paugus bay!!!!

My first Boat was " Little Foot "! Didn't have a biZer Map back in them days either! Just a 425 HPowered mogine under the hood! I will admit that I have been taken aback to more better times, since!
What ever floats your boat.

Default ...pothole is fixed!

The pothole(s) has been filled with some black spackle and has been fixed! A big THANKYOU to the master pothole repairers from Center Harbor.

Is there any chance that Center Harbor could throw a quik fix up at the Center Harbor tennis courts to their hitting backboard. The plywood is coming loose off from its 2x4's frame, and could use about 100 3" galvy dry wall screws all over it. It will take you about two seconds to see where the loose problem area is at because a number of screws are missing!
