My daughter took a ride on this a few years ago when she was over there. Looks like fun.

I believe Sea doo would be a small version of what you are seeing.
I've seen shows with these on them. Looks like a blast; I however would have a hard time being a passenger as I am a terrible back seat driver. My wife hates it when I come out on her boat.

That would be perfect for Sally's Gut! (Just Kidding)

Awesome post!

RLW:
Looks like it is on the same idea as CODZILLA on Boston Harbor only on a smaller scale.

There's a video too but I don't know how to link it directly.

New Zealand must have a 150 mm safe passage law.

That looks like a great time. I wonder how liability insurance works over there. I can't imagine any business like that getting insurance in the US.

Ya, it looks as if you are right McDude, BUT there is one helluva difference. Yours is in an open ocean the the one in NZ is on a narrow river. It scares the by Jesus out of me just watching the video never mind being on it.

I took a ride on the Shotover about 15 years ago when I was in NZ. It was quite a ride. You felt like you were going to ride right into the rocks, then, BANG, a 360 degree turn. Awesome

You might look into it. I though I saw a program one time of them running on the Colorado River or something like that out west.
I know there are sanctioned boat races here in the US using that type of boat on a closed course.

I had a thread on this once. The sanctioned boat races were in Idaho. I will try to find the link and Youtube video.

Yeah, I've seen footage of jet boats on US rivers, and those closed course sprint races, but I have never seen anything with a bus load of paying passengers hurtling headlong towards rock walls like that.

I just viewed it for the 150th time and after viewing it, I said to myself, who the heck was flying the plane/helicopter taking the aerial views of it going through the different canyons???? That in it's self must be a daring/scary job.

We have a Yamaha lx2000 jet boat. It has 270 hp and is a ton of fun to drive I live it. Fun to do 360s and what not.

Smile A belated Welcome to nhbiglake

nhbiglake, I just noticed that you are fairly new to posting on the forum (only 2 posts in a year) and glad you have joined us. Have fun and enjoy the Winni Forum while making many new friends. I may have welcomed you earlier and have forgotten, but 2 welcomes are better than none.
