Default best place to buy lobster - Meredith/Center Harbor area

Who has the best lobster (and best prices) for purchase and eating at home in the Meredith/CH/Moultonborough area? We usually bring our 'bsters direct from Maine but we aren't heading that way for weeks and have a craving now.

We always get our lobsters from Heath's in Center Harbor. Plus they'll steam them for you so by the time you get back to the cottage they're still hot but the shells are softer and easier to crack.

I just saw a report on how cheap lobster is right now. The NECN report had a guy saying they're $3.99 per pound. "Cheaper than hamburger", he said!

Default The BIG ones!

We do not like itty-bitty lobsters!

My "Bros" and I take the truck and go Tilton (exit-23) and go to market basket. If you ask them and order a week ahead will get you 1 1/2 to 2 Lb. lobsters from Canada. They are are best! Pricey? Yeah. But when you think about the waste in a lobster it ain't so bad.

The last time we went to pick them up for the "Braun Bay Bash" (all welcome) the other customers at the store were PO'ed because we got the big ones!

Fire up the grill and have a great Summer!

Misty.

We had lobsters Sun night and they are soft shelled yet very full for soft shells and very delicious! Since they are so cheap now, all things combined, it is a great time to get them.

We got some Sunday at Vista because they were only 5.99 there. They were full and delicious! (and from Canada)

Not sure of the name of the place but on 109 just after the Sunoco (Skellys) is a place on the left. It is set back off the road and looks like a shack. We have been buying lobsters and clams from there for a few years.

Lobster Connection on the Tilton side of Winnisquam Bridge brings in fresh seafood daily. They are the ones that supply the Mount Washington with lobsters so they buy a good volume and sell at the right price. Their fried seafood is the best around!

That would be Capt Bart's Seafood. He always has large lobsters in the tank, but if you need a lot (7 plus) I would call ahead.
