Default Vacation. One more week to go. :)

Its almost that time of year again. FINALLY. Next Sat. the 30th is the first day of our vacation at the lake. CANT WAIT. Probably wont get much accomplished at work this week. All I can think of is being at the lake. We are at Long Island Bridge Campground for 2 weeks this year. Cant come soon enough.

Default Seems like a more quiet Lake Winnipesaukee

It sure seems to me, from my location at flasher #3, that the lake has become a more quiet Lake Winnipesaukee. For the last 20 years, a sunny weekend day what with all the boats really raised the motor noise and wave levels but that does not seem to be the case this year, so far? Hard to fathom..........who would have ever guessed..........go figure........& holy cowabunga?

Default Our Vacation

We start our vacation next week too!! I can't wait. I feel like a kid the week before Christmas. This past week has been torture knowing I could have been at the lake during the heat wave. I hope we get nothing but sunshine and 80+ degree days while I'm there!! Enjoy your summer folks!!

I thought the same thing - Fathers day morning going from Alton to Meredith. Maybe 5-6 boats seen on the way there @ 8:30, maybe 10 including PWC seen coming back @ 10:30. Is it the same this weekend? Where was/is everyone?

Three day workweeks are the best!!

I do the exact same thing. Every Friday and Monday off from the end of June to Labor Day. Nothing like a 4 day weekend every week for ten weeks. I am truly fortunate to be able to do this and really feel for those that take a week or two straight and have bad weather.

Default Vacation Time

We are doing a combination this year. Monday's off for most of June, July, and August. Then taking the week of the 4th, and the last week of July and First week of August.

I agree that by spreading our vacation time out we're bound to have some good weather. Have had the unfortunate experience of taking 2 weeks in a row and experiencing nothing but rain everyday.

As far as boating activity, we were out yesterday, early run to Cow for breakfast at a friend's place, 8:00 AMish. Hardly any boat traffic. Same on the way back, 8:00 PMish.

Love It !!

Bill

What I've been seeing on line is a lot like this weeks weather.
Sure hope it changes because I've seen Monday & Tuesday, questionable then Friday & Saturday rain.
We are off from the 4th to the 8th and as we all know a lot can change between the forcasted weather and the actual weather.

There's gonna be a houseful next week! I'm sure you'll see us running/walking by the LI Bridge Campground...I just hope you don't hear us in the evening!

Default time spent

I too work for three day weeks, but I have a day off in the midst. So I work on Wed, Friday, and saturdey. However on saturday I leave 2 hours early with pay. this week I am taking off on Saturday and not coming home till Wed. I said to self on the way home. What a waste of gas. Need to retire and stay put, no not in CT but in NH.

You all are lucky...I have 8 long weeks to wait. Can't get up there until August 23rd! My sister and her family will get there the end of July. Pure torture knowing they're up there in God's country and I'll be stuck here in Dallas in the Devil's country!!!

I can't speak for everybody, but as a new year-round resident, reading these posts about how excited folks are about their vacations reminds me how lucky I am to live here now. It also reminds me how important all the vacationers are to the lake economy. My hometown of Wolfeboro is bustling now and the boat traffic is looking like a highway out there in Wolfeboro Bay, but I LOVE it! I hope everyone has a great weather and great time up here.

T-Minus 2 hours! How's this for a vacation plan?

Tonight through Sunday on our boat on Boston Harbor to check out the Tall Ships. Then, at Black Cat through Wednesday night, then at the farm on coastal Maine to close out the week.

Hurry up 4PM!

Ditto to all of the above! I'm not completely full-time, but three nights out of every week all year I sleep in Moultonborough! We are leaving shortly to spend TEN whole days there! Woohoo...

I too, am loving watching the lake "come alive." I hope you all have great vacations!
