Ear doctor?
Hi , I am heading up tomorrow morning and have been dealing with a stubborn middle ear infection. Hoping everything goes okay, but if I need to see an ear/ nose / throat doc , can anybody suggest someone in the area?

I am dealing with the same thing! Just yesterday I saw Dr. Stark from ENT Associates of New Hampshire, 85 Spring Street, Laconia, NH. And I was fortunate to get an appt. in just 24 hours due to a cancellation.

I developed ear problems last summer and could NOT get an appointment with an ENT.
They require a referral, and I live 3000 miles away. So, off to the ER. Stupid health care system in Laconia: no Urgency Care / Drop in clinics. |

Mr V - there is a clinic in Laconia - The Laconia Clinic 524-5151.
Yes, you have to call ahead to make an appointment but they have same-day appointments available. They went to this system because people were complaining about the long wait times they were experiencing before they could see a physician. This method also keeps people with contagious ailments from sitting around in a waiting room, getting everyone else they come in contact with sick, too. |

The Laconia Clinic: had I only known.
I called several ENT offices and nobody bothered to inform me of this option. Still, I am surprised that Laconia has no Urgency Care Clinics, the type that require no appointment, and treat a wide variety of ailments first come, first served. They are quite popular on the Left Coast. |

When we had a sick baby visiting us in early July, we called the facility in Meredith (I think it's called Lakes Region Health Care) and were informed that "Unlike Massachusetts, no urgent care facility exists around here." We didn't say "Massachusetts," they did. The sick baby's family is from MD and is used to relying on that type of care.
