Default Black Friday Specials

Anyone going to get up or stay up for the midnight specials at Wallymart or Bestest Buy?

Hell no.

I thought about getting up at midnight, to stand out in the cold and fight a crowd of 200 people to try to get a discount on a product that I don't REALLY need, but decided to stay home instead.

I am in upstate New York visiting relatives and I did go to Walmart for the midnight sales. It was very organized and timely. I purchased a TV, printer, etc. The only problem is that I had to pay the darn NY sales tax. Every time I shop In NY state I am so thankful that NH does not have a sales tax.

Default A milestone

For the first time since 1994, I did not have to be at work at Staples by 5 AM (or earlier) on Black Friday. And I thought that retiring just meant more golf and boating! Back to your regularly scheduled Black Friday Coverage.

No. I only went once and what I wanted was already rolling around in someone's cart waiting for the discount to take effect. Since then I have learned B/F prices are good but not the lowest for the holiday shopping season.

So much of this stuff was available last night on line, with free shipping in most cases. No reason to go out.

This is a great site, just an FYI. I do almost all my shopping from my couch.

My wife wound up down in Tilton with a bunch of girlfriends after work last night. It was her first black friday adventure. She said "never again", that most of the stores they went into are stores they visit regularly anyway and those stores had higher prices for black friday then they did for their regular sales.
None of it came as a surprise to me.

HP had on line sales for up to 50% off. I bought a quad pack of ink cartridges for 15% off the regular price, with free shipping.
