Snow On Lake
Thinking about heading up this Sunday and take a ride out to Welch via snowmobile from Glendale. How are the snow conditions on the lake?? Is it too deep and powdery for snowmobiling right now?? Any info would be appreciated!!
Thanks!! Dan |

Lake is fine for snowmobiling
I live on Belknap Pt and there are already many packed trails heading out toward Welch. There is surely some light/fluffy powder on the lake and depending on your machine, going off a packed trail can result in some powder over the windshield. You shouldn't get stuck though.

As of Monday....
It was at least 18 inches of really fluffy stuff. The few sleds that went by were floating pretty well but it'd be easy to get bogged down if you stop -- especially if your track isn't picked. I'm sure by this weekend the snowpack will have settled quite a bit and been beaten down in the busier areas.

The lake was fast this weekend, packed where you wanted it but tons of powder for fun!
