Default Choppy out there today

Left jockey cove at 7am for morning boat ride for coffee at the wolfeboro docks-I thought yesterday was choppy but today takes the cake-very rough out there

Default Rattlesnake

I came across to the mainland at 530AM and it was suprisingly windy and fluffy out there. I wasn't expecting it.

Default And windy

Having my coffee watching the rollers march by here on the south end of Rattlesnake. Huge waves and a lot of spray as the wind blows off the tops of the whitecaps. I think a hike is in order today; sure not heading out into the maelstrom without a darn good reason.

Default

I went out fishing in Alton Bay in my Kayak this morning: Solid 1 footers and an occasional 2 footer. I was taking waves over the bow and was getting swamped in beam seas of my sit-on-top ocean kayak. The wind would calm resulting in small chop, and then surge, producing nice white capped steep waves. The wind was positioned perfectly to build up speed and momentum right down Alton Bay.

The 60 degree wind was blowing, wave spray was flying, waves were pounding, wet seat, swamping waves, dragging my anchor in the high winds having trouble holding my position. That said, the five pound smallie that I landed made it all worthwhile and actually quite fun.
