Ragged Island and Boat trip info. request
Hi Folks....
I was planning a boat trip this w/e, and would like some info. from the Forum. Was planning to visit Ragged Island (between Cow and Long Is.), at the suggestion of a fellow boater friend of mine. I have never been to this island in all my years on the Lake. My friend told me there are several public docks available at the island for anyone's use, and the island is actually some sort of wildlife preserve? He also said there was an area around the island where it is sandy and shallow, making it ideal for swimming and rafting? On Bizer chart I see a number of rocks/shallows on East side of island. As I said, never been to this island and would like some more info. about the area, hazards, etc. Also, as part of this trip plan to go through the 'Hole in the Wall', around Little Bear Island, travel through the Long Island bridge, then possibly anchor somewhere between Markers 62-63 (West Point to Downing Shores). Suggestions about this? FYI., End of run will bring me back to Saunder's Bay. Thanks, Bigdog |
