Big Wind Friday
High wind watch on Friday with the upcoming storm.
Looks like sustained 25 to 35 winds with gust to 65, from the south east. Hope the trees in my yard stay up. https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/ma...40&animation=0 |

Never seen whitecaps and rollers so big going up Paugus Bay. It's a good thing the ice has not started to form. There would have been a lot of dock damage.

Mt Washington supposedly had wind gusts above 140-mph, sometime this morning ...... www.mountwashington.org/weathercams/deckcam.aspx .....
should have positioned a WMUR volunteer, out there, up close to this window for Mt Washington show & tell ..... . |

NHEC power outage updates
Following updates on this NHEC page: https://www.nhec.com/elliott/
They estimate 23,000 without power as of 7pm this evening, and warn it’s going to be a few days for many folks. We are down in MA for Christmas, but driving up now to check on status. Our generator is turned off because it’s causing problems with the furnace electronics (never a good time for an outage, but grrr…this one is especially frustrating!). But if we can spin that up, we’ll have power, just no heat, hopefully enough to keep sump and water pumps going to ride it out. |

Still no power when we woke. Have the generator up and running. Heat and water. But, feeling terrible for my daughter and son in law in Bedford. Tree came down and wiped out their weekend rider.

Oh no, how sad. I can't believe how many trees came down!

Nhec said a 70 mph squall line came through at around 6pm last night and caused a lot of destruction, undoing a lot of what had been ixed in the morning. 2100 homes without powering Moultonborough and many will be a few days before restoration. Stay warm folks.
